The
Downtowner Woodfire Grill is conveniently located in downtown St. Paul, just one
and a half blocks west of the Xcel Energy center on West 7th Street.
The best “free” parking in town is offered to our dinner guests who are also
going to a concert or Wild game.
The
Downtowner Woodfire Grill was known as the Downtowner Café for 12 years. The
original cafe was a small diner - serving only breakfast and lunch. Famous for
its Cajun Breakfast and Stuffed French Toast, the Downtowner was (and still is)
one of St. Paul's favorite neighborhood restaurants.
After
extensive renovation, the all new Downtowner Woodfire Grill, opened its’ doors
in August 2001. With an open floor plan, water fountains in the bar and two
fire places, the Downtowner offers a charming 21st century atmosphere
complimented by an ancient cooking style. The Downtowner Woodfire Grill still
serves its fabulous breakfasts and lunches, but added an upbeat dinner menu that
you will find to be as unique and wonderful as the restaurant itself.
The
menu is considered American Bistro, with a Persian touch. The kitchen is open
to the dining room, so you can watch as your entrée is being prepared. The
Downtowner specializes in daily fresh seafood specials and fire roasted meats
cooked on an oak-burning woodfire grill. Authentic Persian flatbread - prepared
fresh daily - is served to all dinner guests. Try a fresh Woodfired pizza –
you’ll definitely want to come back for more!
A
beautiful private dining room is available for special events and business
meetings for large groups. The room can accommodate up to 34 people and can be
reserved for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The “backroom” also hosts its own
special events, such as wine dinners that are open to all.
Dinner is enhanced by live jazz music on Friday and Saturday evenings starting at 8pm.

Downtowner boasts a full bar (complete with three beautiful water fountains) and
a large selections of wines. Bargain hunters can enjoy half-priced bottled wine
with dinner on Monday & Tuesday nights.
